ARTP 270: Computational Creativity
This course will be an online ACE 7 course for the Spring 2022 semester. The core of the course is a suite of Computational Creativity exercises that combine computational thinking and creative thinking to make students better problem solvers in any discipline. Students also hone their collaborative and process skills. This course has no prerequisites, is open to anyone, and is designed for student success. While aimed at lower division students, there is ample opportunity for upper division students to push themselves. Honors credit is available by contract.
In their final project students use computational and creative thinking to design and document a “tool” to solve a real-life problem of their choosing. Students’ innovative responses include an ice-melting shoe, a deaf-blind smart watch and a smart-controlled agriculture system.
