AMS Student Chapter Meeting
Did you know that UNL has an American Meteorological Society (AMS) Student Chapter? This is a student-run club of mostly METR-CLIM majors (though non-majors are welcome too!) that holds regular meetings and events to help students network and learn about all the latest volunteering and scholarship opportunities.
The next AMS meeting will be Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30pm in the Bessey Auditorium. The group will be welcoming Dr. Houston to speak about his experiences with research and TORUS. They’ll also be continuing a forecasting challenge that was started in a previous meeting.
In the future, they're planning to do a very casual severe weather forecasting challenge and have a super fun picnic outside of the normal meeting time.
