METR/NRES 370: Applied Climatology
For the Fall 2023 semester, the METR/NRES 370: Applied Climatology course will be taught at 11-11:50 am in Hardin Hall Room 228 by Professor Rezaul Mahmood.
The METR/NRES 370: Applied Climatology course is for students who want to learn all about climate data, and to be able to use that data to identify and interpret the relationships between climate conditions and various human, economic, and ecological climate sensitive activities.
Learning Outcomes:
#1: proficiency with different strategies of climate analysis.
#2: knowledge of how stakeholders apply climate information to make timely decisions related to their climate sensitive activities.
#3: experience with climate related tools and products tailored toward potential stakeholder decisions.
Prerequisites:
- Junior standing or above
The METR/NRES 370: Applied Climatology course can be used to fulfill required elective hours with the Geology or Meteorology-Climatology majors, but Geology majors can only use METR 100 or METR/NRES 370. The METR/NRES 370 course is also a required course for the Applied Climate Sciences minor, and it could be an interesting elective depending on your after graduation plans.
