Meteorology-Climatology Student Spotlight
Name: Carmelo Lattuca
Major: Meteorology-Climatology
Year in School: Senior
Where are you from?
I am from Chicago, Illinois.
What gets you excited about Meteorology-Climatology?
What gets me excited about meteorology-climatology is the unpredictability of the weather along with the often extreme nature that comes with it.
Favorite Meteorology-Climatology class or instructor so far? Why?
My favorite meteorology class and instructor so far has been broadcast meteorology with Professor Anderson because I think it has been where I have learned the most in what I want to do in life after college.
What are you excited about doing after graduation?
I am excited to get straight to work after college. I have had a passion for broadcast meteorology since I was a little kid and to be on the cusp of making that dream come true is really special.
What is a goal you have accomplished as a Husker?
As a Husker, a goal that I have accomplished has been sticking it out through a major that has high turnover within the first few years and I am proud that I was able to push through.
What do you wish you would have known when you started as a Meteorology-Climatology Major that you know now?
I wish I would have known how intense the mathematics would have been in this major. I had an idea of it when I started my freshman year, but it ended up being a lot more stressful than I had initially expected.
What do you hope to cross off your “bucket list” in the next few years?
I hope to enter a medium to large size market within the next few years. To be able to be seen in front of a large audience would truly cross off a top tier bucket list goal.
