Omaha-Offutt Chapter of the AMS/NWA Meeting
The Omaha-Offutt Chapter of the AMS/NWA will be having its first meeting since its re-inception on Wednesday, September 4th at 5:30pm. The meeting will be held in Omaha at DJ's Dugout: 777 N 114th Street, Omaha, NE, 68154.
Brian Barjenbruch, the Science and Operations Officer out of the National Weather Service Office in Valley, will be presenting a reflection on the active year we've had, titled "2024: NWS Perspective on the High-End Severe Weather Season." Dinner and any non-alcoholic beverages will be covered.
The chapter has a strong desire to connect with members of the UNL community. For students, this is a great opportunity to connect with NWS, Air Force, and private sector meteorologists, as well as to learn outside of the classroom.
If interested in becoming a member, dues of $10 in physical form (i.e. cash) can be given to Derek Dornsife at the meeting.
