Undergraduate research positions in the fungal ecology lab

Are you interested in microbiology, fungi, molecular biology, and/or plant pathogens?

Come join us at the newly established Quantitative Fungal Ecology Lab (http://www.fungalecology.com) in the Department of Plant Pathology. We are seeking undergraduate researchers to assist in general laboratory practices, from isolating fungal pathogens to preparing DNA for sequencing and processing of raw data.

Are you interested in bioinformatics and/or computational biology?

We are also looking for candidates for small projects in bioinformatics/computational biology.

No specific skills or previous experience are required.

We will provide training on biosafety practices and basic/specific lab techniques as needed.

Hourly rates:

Freshman: $9.50-10.50
Sophomore: $10.50-11.50
Junior: $11.50-12.50
Senior: $12.50 – up to $15

Note: These rates are subject to internal departmental changes.

Join us and work with on exciting aspects of fungal ecology, including evolutionary history and migration patterns, geographical distribution, host range, and fungicide resistance in pathogens found in the state of Nebraska and the region.
