UCARE Opportunities - DUE FEBRUARY 15

The Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience (UCARE) program at UNL is a paid opportunity to work one-on-one with a faculty research mentor in fields ranging from arts, education, architecture, engineering, journalism, business, and humanities to traditional sciences like chemistry, biology, and physics. Through UCARE, you’ll work alongside world-class UNL faculty members conducting cutting-edge research that will shape the future of Nebraska and beyond.

Students who receive UCARE awards take advantage of a variety of professional development workshops and seminars, increase knowledge of graduate study and career paths, learn about fellowship opportunities for further research and study, and present work at Student Research Days in spring term or the Summer Research Symposium.

Funded in part by gifts from the Pepsi Quasi Endowment and Union Bank & Trust, UCARE supports UNL undergraduates to work one-on-one with faculty research advisors in research or creative activities. The UCARE program solicits applications from eligible undergraduates for either academic year or summer awards. Awards are competitively reviewed and funded each year and are not automatically renewed.

Students who have already received a UCARE award must re-apply for funding by completing a full application, including a research abstract.

Want to learn more? The Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships will host a Zoom information session for UCARE applicants on November 16. It will be recorded and posted on our website. If you have further questions, you can book an appointment in MyPLAN, ideally on or after October 19 as we are currently prioritizing fellowship applicants with upcoming external deadlines.
