Husker bassoon students in the studio of Dr. Nathan Koch will present a delightful concert of bassoon trios and quartets that demonstrate the wide range of expressive possibilities of the instrument on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. live from Westbrook Recital Hall. There are no in-person audiences for University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music events this semester, but the event will be live streamed.
The program will include both original compositions and arrangements of music by Astor Piazzolla, Francisco Mignone, Julius Weissenborn, and others, juxtaposing the traditional musical styles of South America and late-Romantic trends of 19th-century Germany.
In order to ensure the safety of all participants, performers will be spaced at least 6 feet apart, wear face masks while playing, and cover the bell of the instrument with approved materials. These precautions have a detrimental effect on the acoustical properties of the instrument, so please excuse the slightly muffled tone color in certain registers.
