Recent mathematics Ph.D. graduate Juliana Bukoski, advised by Professor Allan Donsig, participated in the 2021 Science Slam, which is an annual, campus-wide STEM communication contest organized by the NSF-funded Nebraska MRSEC. For her presentation "Clocks, Chords, and Roots of Unity: A Love Song to Mathematics," the audience overwhelmingly voted Juliana the winner of the Slam!

Juliana was one of four finalists selected through a competitive process to present at the event, and her talk simply blew the audience away. MRSEC was inspired by her outstanding research, as well as her ability to communicate her passion to engage a diverse audience from across the UNL campus, the country, and indeed, the world!
