Taking Stock of Science Standards Implementation: Planning for Progress: Proceedings of a Workshop—in Brief
by the National Academy of Sciences
It has been just over 10 years since the release of the Framework on K-12 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards. In April 2022, the Board on Science Education held an event to reflect on implementation of the standards over the past decade. This event examined the status of curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, and policy and identified strategies for moving implementation efforts forward. Participants shared their visions for what science education could look like in ten years, and how these visions might be achieved. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussions at the event.
