The second round of applications for the 2025-2026 cohort of the Our Future Is Science Mentorship Program has started on July 1 and will close July 31, 2025.

The Our Future Is Science (OFIS) Mentorship Program is a virtual initiative of the Aspen Institute Science & Society Program that matches high school students with graduate student STEM mentors throughout the academic year. Mentees and Mentors are paid an honorarium of $1,000 upon completion of the program.

What is Our Future is Science?
Since 2021, OFIS has supported over 300 students from across the U.S.—connecting high schoolers with mentors from top-tier institutions like Stanford University, Howard University, The University of California Los Angeles, and Meharry Medical College.

The goal? To inspire the next generation of STEM leaders and equip them with the tools to harness science to make their communities healthier, stronger, and more resilient.

OFIS is an award-winning program. In 2024, the Falling Walls Foundation recognized OFIS as a global winner in Science Engagement!
