The National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP) and Smart Girls HQ are recruiting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs to participate in Brite 2025! Brite is an online science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) program for self-identifying girls entering 7th-10th grade.
Dates and times: Monday, July 21-Friday, July 25, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. CDT each day
NGCP has received a generous grant to allow programs to participate at no cost! Participating programs will receive access to a customized online platform, educator guide and online training, Zoom meeting room, and a $100 gift card.
The theme is Explore STEAM: Creativity and Curiosity. Girls will engage in icebreakers, hands-on activities, and meet four fabulous role models: Beata Mierzwa, molecular biologist and science artist; Caeley Looney, aerospace engineer and CEO and editor-in-chief of Reinvented Magazine; Safoura Seddighin, co-founder of Fabinnov FabLab; and
Jessica Hua, ecologist and science communicator. Brite will spark curiosity and creativity, all while having fun doing STEAM projects and meeting STEAM professionals.
The Brite team will facilitate live role model talks and a project showcase on Zoom and provide platform and technical support. Educators from participating programs are responsible for facilitating icebreakers and hands-on activities for their group on Zoom or in person. (The program is designed to increase STEM interest for girls, and boys are welcome.)
