Nebraska Academy of Sciences hosts third annual Crane Migration Field Trip

Get into the field and join the Nebraska Academy of Sciences for their 2026 Crane Migration Tour on Saturday, March 14!

Science, scenery, wildlife and good company—these are the goals of the 2026 NAS Crane Migration Phenomenon Field Trip. The expedition will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration costs $90 and includes all lectures, dinner and the Blind Fee. Meet and network with like-minded science lovers, science teachers, students and bird lovers!

These tours are led by ornothologists from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Details are still in the works, but NAS encourages signing up early to ensure your place on this fantastic adventure.

Tentative schedule:
1:00 p.m. - Bus departs Lincoln for Rowe Sanctuary
3:00 p.m. - Field tour of Prairie Habitat
4:00 p.m. - Talks on Cranes with UNK Ornithologists
5:00 p.m. - Dinner (included in your registration)
6:00 p.m. - Rowe Sanctuary Program and Wildlife Viewing from a Blind on the North Platte River
9:00 p.m. - Depart Rowe for Lincoln
11:00 p.m. - Arrive back in Lincoln
