The Nebraska MEP is offering cybersecurity assessments for five companies, as a special promotion covered under the CARES Act grant, for qualified Nebraska manufacturers. The assessments, valued at $1,500 each, are designed to discover IT security vulnerabilities and promote best practices for manufacturing operations.
"Small to mid-size manufacturers are often targets of cybercriminals," says Mike Nagle, assistant director of the Nebraska MEP. "Cybersecurity often gets shortchanged and pushed to the bottom of a company's priority list. This leaves an operation vulnerable and susceptible to hackers to disrupt operations, steal financial and banking information as well as intellectual property."
The Nebraska MEP has contracted with Intellicom, Inc. of Kearney, to design and conduct the assessments. Cybersecurity assessments are just one service offered under a CARES Act grant from the NIST MEP to provide COVID relief to manufacturers.
