Would your lights be among the first to go if we were overrun by the living dead?
Scott Benson, LES manager, Resource & Transmission Planning, and Marc Shkolnick, manager, Energy Services, will answer that question in their talk “Power (Or Lack Thereof) in a Zombie Apocalypse,” on November 6 at 7:00 pm in the Peterson Room, Love Library South (Room LS221). They will review how Hollywood sometimes depicts energy generation and usage in a post-apocalyptic world. The talk will also consider how does our electric grid operate today and how would that change in a zombie apocalypse?
The SciPop Talk series facilitates the intersection of where science and popular culture. Talks are free, open to the public and sponsored by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Libraries and Chemistry Departments. For more information about the series visit: http://unl.libguides.com/scipoptalks
