The annual Holidays for Little Huskers event is seeking group and individual sponsors to help brighten the holidays and provide a little something extra for the children of University of Nebraska–Lincoln students.

The event welcomes Recognized Student Organizations, Greek chapters, departments and friends of the university to purchase gifts from the children’s wish lists and drop off those gifts at the Women’s Center, located on the third floor of the Nebraska Union. Those interested in sponsoring a child can sign up here through Nov. 15.

The Women’s Center will contact each sponsor to coordinate the gift-giving, which will include:
• an item to wear
• an item to read
• an item I want
• an item I need

Stephanie Alderson, assistant director for the Women's Center, is predicting at least 45 children to be registered. "During last year's program, donors gave more than 275 items for 55 different children of currently-enrolled students," says Alderson. "We expect a similar participation this year."

Husker student-parents who want their child to participate in Holidays for Little Huskers can sign up and submit their child’s wish list here.
