Civic Nebraska and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Husker Vote Coalition are seeking student volunteers to serve as election observers for the Nov. 8 general election in Nebraska.

Observers are trained to collect information detailing handicap accessibility, provisional ballots, wait times, voter issues, and more. On the day of elections, our observers across the state visit polling stations to note the physical accessibility of the polling place and accessibility of the ballot itself.

Training for general election poll observation will be held on the following dates: Students can Sign up here to volunteer.

Oct. 15 and 19, at 11:00am via Zoom
Oct. 17, at 5:00pm in Omaha, UNO Barbara Weitz CEC
Oct. 24, at 5:30pm in Grand Island, Civic Nebraska Office
Oct. 25, at 5:30pm in Kearney, Public Library

Civic Nebraska uses the information that is gathered to build a post-election report, which is shared with county election officials, state election officials, and the public to identify areas of success and improvement. This report also informs future legislative initiatives that can improve Nebraska voters’ experiences.
