Throughout the week the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center will be hosting events to celebrate the center.

Attend the Open House from 1 to 3 p.m. April 3. There will be various fun activities and snacks throughout the building for students and the UNL community.

Stop, Serve and Mingle with OASIS and Middle Eastern & North African Student Association from 4 to 6 p.m. April 5 to make bracelets, cards, and tie blankets for care packages that will be donated to the local community.

Join the Multicultural Lip Sync Battle from 6 to 8 p.m. April 6 in the Nebraska Union Swanson Auditorium to connect with others and celebrate different cultures.

Fuel up at the Grab & Go Breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. April 7. Join OASIS in the morning to grab a quick breakfast before classes.

Red Cross Club Blood Drive
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 3-5
Harper Dining Center Conference Room


The Campus Red Cross Club is collaborating with University Housing to host a Spring Blood Drive. It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids and have a meal before donating.

Pre-Registration is recommended. Walk-ins will be welcome if there are open donation spots. T-shirts will be available for those that donate.

Just In Time Fair

This event is an opportunity to find those last-minute summer internship and experiential opportunities — open to students of all majors and degree levels. Connect with a variety of employers with open positions in a casual, relaxed environment.

Cultural Cuisine Night: Spring in Paris
4:30 to 8 p.m. April 4
Willa Cather Dining Complex


Enjoy fun, fellowship, and delicious dishes at the third cultural cuisine night. Featured menu items include: Croque Monsieur, Ratatouille, Beef Bourguignon, Vichyssoise Soup, French Cheese Board, Niçoise Salad, Crème Brulée, Crepes and more. Free for all students with a meal plan.

Shine a Light of Support
7:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 5
Nebraska Union, The Crib


Shine a light of support for survivors during Sexual Assault Awareness Month by writing a message on a luminaria bag to illuminate The Crib in solidarity. Visit informational booths of campus organizations and grab swag to learn how you can get involved in the efforts to end sexual violence on our campus.

Women’s Center Poetry Café
5:30 to 8 p.m. April 6

Enjoy live poetry performed by UNL students and community members with a concentration around gender equity, empowerment, or social justice. All are welcome to perform original works or poetry by other artist with credit to the individual. This is a free event with light refreshments available.
