In certain cases, rap lyrics have been used as evidence in criminal trials. How does race and systemic inequality play a role in these cases? Richard Moberly, dean of the University of Nebraska College of Law, will explain the legal ramifications of this issue and the need for this important conversation. Lunch will be provided.

Visit with Well-being Ambassadors to learn how you can support your peers, test your knowledge on the available mental health resources UNL offers, and decrease the stigma around help-seeking. All participants will walk away with informational resources, fun stickers, and a free succulent (while supplies last).

Stop by the CARE booth to learn how you can get involved in violence prevention on campus and show your support for survivors by participating in the creation of a denim art display.

Joel Sartore

Appreciated for his sense of humor and Midwest work ethic, Joel Sartore is an award-winning photographer, speaker, author, conservationist, and the 2018 National Geographic Explorer of the Year. On this one night, Joel is appearing in person before a limited audience at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. During the one-hour engagement, he will speak about his work, travels, and adventures, in addition to showing a few of his most well-known photographs.
This event is FREE for UNL students, faculty, and staff with Event Pass. $5 for general public (cash only at the door). ARRIVE EARLY – only 300 seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

You are invited to the 2023 Define American Banquet in honor of Juan N. Franco. All the proceeds from this banquet will go to the Juan N. Franco Legacy Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to ALL students, regardless of status, so they can make their educational dreams come true. This event is the largest fundraiser for Define American hosts to raise funds for the scholarship. Individual tickets for the banquet are $20. Register to attend.
