Mueller Planetarium offers 'LaserFest' Oct. 19-21

Laser light shows are returning to Mueller Planetarium for one weekend only. The "LaserFest" shows are Oct. 19-21 and will not be the performances seen in the past at Morrill Hall's Mueller Planetarium. Instead, the music-themed shows will feature Lightwave International's state-of-the-art laser projectors.

Lightwave International is a multi-talented production company specializing in dazzling laser light shows and special effects for movies, corporate, touring, and civic events. Lightwave is currently on tour with Skrillex, The Killers, Pretty Lights, Ghostland Observatory, and DreamWorks' "How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular."

The LaserFest schedule:

Oct. 19 — 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., Laser Beatles; 9:30 and 11 p.m., Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon Laser Spectacular.

Oct. 20 – 3:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m., Laser Beatles; 9:30 and 11 p.m., Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon Laser Spectacular.

Oct. 21 – 3:30 p.m., Laser Country (various artists); 7 p.m., Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon Laser Spectacular.

The regular fulldome astronomy show (non-laser), “A Starry Tale,” will also be presented. Show times are 2 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22.

Matinee show tickets (include museum exhibits): $10 for adults, $7 for children 18 and under, and $4 for Friends of the Museum and UNL staff, faculty and students with valid NU ID.

Evening show tickets (museum exhibits closed): $8 for all ages, $7 for Friends of the Museum. There is no discount for UNL staff, faculty and students during the evening shows. Evening shows, which begin at 7 p.m., are not recommended for children under age 5.

Tickets sold on the day of the show only. No advance purchases. Each show seats 80.
