The Lied Center for Performing Arts is offering faculty and staff the opportunity to purchase half price tickets to performances this week. The faculty/staff discount is available for The Elders concert on March 17 and the Count Basie Orchestra performance on March 18.
The Elders is a Celtic rock band from Kansas City. The St. Patrick's Day performance begins at 7:30 p.m. The half-price tickets are $14.50/$12 for faculty, staff and students.
The legendary Count Basie Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m., March 18. Founded by Count Basie in 1935, the group is a 16- to 18-piece big band and was once of the most prominent jazz performing groups of the swing era. The band is directed by Dennis Mackrel. The Count Basie Orchestra has won 17 Grammy awards. The half-price tickets for faculty, staff and students are $17.50/$15/$12.50.
