Students who are interested in an entrepreneurial internship where they can develop their talents while also building community are invited to apply for the Rural Futures Serviceship Program. This program is a summer internship experience that places students – in teams of two – in rural communities to work on specific projects that the community has identified. This program aims to meet communities’ needs while providing leadership training and skill building to students.

Students interested in learning more about the program are invited to attend one of the upcoming information sessions:
• Thursday, Jan. 28th | 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the City Campus Union, Heritage Room
• Thursday, Feb. 4th | 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the East Campus Union

This internship is designed for students who have a strong desire to take ownership of a project and develop professionally while also learning about culture, adaptability and resourcefulness in a rural community environment.

Since the beginning of the program, 21 students have worked in 11 communities after completing a 2-week summer course. Previous students have come from both urban and rural backgrounds and a wide variety of disciplines and have walked away from this experience with new skills and connections.
