New Spring Cooking Classes Offered in the Wellness Kitchen on East Campus

Campus Recreation will offer several new cooking classes this Spring at the recently-completed Wellness Kitchen in the Rec & Wellness Center on East Campus. The kitchen features state-of-the art technology, including projection of the head cook and stovetop onto a large monitor for easy-to-follow instruction. Class participants enjoy a hands-on experience with the opportunity to take part in all aspects of the cooking process. Each class includes a cooking coach, food and all materials needed unless otherwise noted.
Topics include the following:
Guest-Led Cooking
Second Tuesday of each month |6-7:30 p.m.
February 9 | March 8 | April 12
February 9 class will feature Indian Cooking. Future classes will features guests from the Nebraska Beef Council and local food connoisseurs.
$20 for UNL students or CREC members | $25 for General Public

Third Wednesday of each month | 5:30-6:30pm
February 17 | March 16 | April 20
Guests from the UNL and Lincoln Community will be invited to showcase different foods, recipes, and styles of cooking. All attendees will get a taste, no meal provided.

Specialty Cooking
Fourth Tuesday of Select Months | 6-7:30 p.m.
February 23 | April 26
February 23 class will focus on cooking for two. Cooking for two people can be tricky. We’ll show you how to make a meal that’s the perfect portion size for two people.
$30 per couple for UNL students or CREC members | $40 per couple for General Public
