Campus Recreation is offering a "Women's Self Defense Class" from noon to 4 p.m., Sept. 25 in the Campus Rec Center.
The class will cover basic awareness, posture, how to stay vocal, basic striking, choke defense, ground assault defense and some weapon defense. Participants will also learn how to deal with a carjacking and how to use everyday items, like a purse, as weapons. The class will also include an attack simulation.
Course instructors are from Six Points Self Defense in Omaha.
Cost is $25 for UNL students and Campus Rec members; and $75 for non-members. Pre-registration is required. Sign up at the Campus Rec Center, East Campus Activities building or online at http://go.unl.edu/k89.
The course will be offered again on Oct. 23 and Nov. 13.
