The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet will present its campus recital “Both Sides of Bach” on Monday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
The program is built around the Bachs. That sounds tried and true, but it’s not the same Bachs you are used to. Of course, we will play music by J.S. Bach, but it is bookended by music by Jan Bach. In addition to Laudes by Jan and Contrapunctus IX by Johann Sebastian, the program will include No Comment by Juraj Filas and the beautiful quintet by Michael Kamen. The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet is comprised of Scott Quackenbush and K. Craig Bircher on trumpet, Alan Mattingly on horn, trombonist Scott Anderson and tubist Craig Fuller.
The performance is free and open to the public. It will also be live webcast. Visit music.unl.edu the night of the performance for the live link.
