Spark childhood literacy with the MLK Reading Challenge

Celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., through a day of service.Sign up to read to children for an hour on Monday, January 21, to honor the legacy of MLK. As part of the Husker Civic Challenge, volunteers will visit 26 early childhood centers across Lincoln. This event is the first in a series of monthly challenges as Huskers give back 1.5 million service hours.

Converge is a civil discourse program organized by ASUN Student Government. Students complete a political ideology quiz, then ASUN pairs them with someone of differing beliefs for a conversation on their differences. Visit the fair on January 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the NU Centennial Room to meet community partners and learn about service opportunities.

The January Make + Take Lunch recipe will be Vegetarian Seven-Layer Tostadas.Campus Recreation cooking classes and demonstrations teach participants the skills needed to prepare healthy meals that are simple, budget-friendly, and delicious.
