Campus Recreation will be offering a 10 week non credit Athletic Training Basics course. This course is for people who interested in learning about basic athletic care for people who are pursuing a career in a medical field (AT,PT,PA,MD, dieticians, ect), people who coach or a supplement to academic health related courses.
AT Basics is a 10 week non credit course that goes over different health topics (legal issues, basic evaluations of the head, shoulder, knee and ankle, wound care, stretching, etc.). Student get hands on learning and complete weekly skills assessments. If students complete the requirements at the end of the course, they are eligible for a job interview to potentially earn a position on the IPC Staff.
The course is taught by two of the certified athletic trainers at the rec center, Jen Krueger and KC Esco. There are two section of the course that begin Jan.22 or Jan.23 from 7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. in room 230C. To register for the course please stop by the Member Services Desk at the City Campus Rec or the East Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. The cost of the course in $50.
