Career Services’ spring 2014 programming begins with the comprehensive Preparing for the Job Search (http://events.unl.edu/career_services/2014/01/21/80094/) presentations with employer panelists and speakers covering resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and networking. Students can polish their interviewing skills in a Mock Interview (http://events.unl.edu/career_services/2014/02/03/80066/) with an employer or mix and mingle with employers at the Professional Networking Reception (http://events.unl.edu/career_services/2014/02/17/44570/). At Career Fair Prep Night (http://events.unl.edu/career_services/2014/02/06/80084/), they can hear from employers how to make the most of a career fair. That advice can be put to work at the Spring Career Fairs (http://www.unl.edu/careers/springfair/) as well as at the new Public Service and Nonprofit Career Fair (http://www.unl.edu/careers/pubservicefair).
Job searches are not one-size-fits-all. A search for a local agricultural engineering position for after graduation requires a different approach than that for a summer internship in public relations in San Diego. Career Counselors (http://www.unl.edu/careers/meet-career-counselor) are available in Career Services through Walk-In sessions or by appointment to work one-on-one with students to develop strategies that fit their unique goals
