MABA Program Offers Accelerated Path to Graduate Degree

As students near graduation and begin preparing for new career opportunities, many consider graduate school for a competitive edge in the job market. The typical Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, though, could take over two years to complete.

The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln invites students to take a more accelerated path to a Big Ten graduate business degree. In only 11 months, students can earn a Master of Arts in Business Administration (MABA), which will provide a competitive advantage in the job applicant pool and quicken the process of students getting into and exceling in the work force.

Through this expedited, on-campus MABA program, students will rigorously study all functional areas of business with a focus on strategic business framework. The 36-hour degree includes 10 courses specially designed to hone in on students’ communication and teamwork skills for greater success in future careers. CBA staff will also help each student to secure an administrative internship, providing hands-on experience to enhance their résumé.

The program is cohort-based, allowing students the opportunity to form lasting personal and professional relationships in the group with which they start and graduate from the program. Additionally, students will have access to the Career Services at CBA team to assist in the post-graduate job search.

Dr. Donde Plowman, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of the College Business Administration, said, “I am excited to offer this new master’s program. The MABA is an accelerated approach to traditional graduate business education. It meets the needs of those wanting to start their next chapter prepared for today’s business challenges.”
