The University Health Center is proud to offer several services at no extra charge to students who have paid their University Program and Facilities Fee (UPPF), more commonly known as student fees.

UPFF is part of the cost of attending UNL and is essential to the support of vital functions within the University community, including the University Health Center. All enrolled students — even those pursuing an off-campus course such as student teaching — are assessed student fees along with tuition whether or not they plan to take advantage of fee-funded facilities and services.

Fees for students taking seven or more credit hours cover many UHC services. Fees for students taking six or fewer credit hours do not include UHC services, but these students may elect to pay the $138.54 UHC fee per term or they may procure health services at the Center on a fee-for-service basis.

UPFF covers the following UHC services at no extra charge:
• Five visits to the Medical and/or Travel Clinic per calendar year (July – June). Visits do not include immunizations, laboratory services, medical procedures, preventative exams, prescriptions or X-rays.
• Visits to a triage nurse. Students can visit our triage nurse when they are experiencing symptoms and aren’t sure if it’s serious enough to warrant a clinic visit. This is not considered one of the five Medical Clinic visits unless the nurse moves the student into an appointment with a provider.
• Flu shots. These are offered free of charge to all UNL students. Our walk-in clinics are open from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Monday — Friday. For more information, visit http://health.unl.edu/flu.
• Four Counseling and Psychological Services visits per academic lifetime. For visits 5 – 12, students will be charged a $30 out-of-pocket fee or it will be billed to insurance at regular rate. Visits 13 and above are billed directly to insurance at regular rate. Group therapy sessions are unlimited and offered at $15 per session.
• Initial medical nutrition therapy visit for individuals or groups. Additional re-assessment visits will be charged a $7.50 out-of-pocket fee per 15 minutes.
• Sport physical for Campus Rec activities.
• Physical Therapy consultation.
• Lipid panel. The test must be ordered by a provider.
• Glucose quantitative blood Lab service. The test must be ordered by a provider.
• Hemoglobin Lab service. The test must be ordered by a provider.
• Chlamydia and gonorrhea Lab service. The test must be ordered by a provider.
• HIV antigen with HIV antibodies. The test must be ordered by a provider.
