If you haven't heard by now, on Jan. 9th, the university opened a new resource for students —our Huskers Helping Huskers Pantry+ on the third floor of the Nebraska Union on City Campus. Our goal is to help students who are food and/or shelter insecure.

The pantry provides food, hygiene items, information on community resources and more to students in need. They simply have to show a Ncard to receive assistance!

The pantry is open 39 hours per week this semester and is completely staffed by students. Donation solicitations began in December to prepare for the grand opening, and as of March 28, they have received over 4,000 donations from the UNL community and beyond!

The pantry has had more than 120 visits from students since it opened. They have given away over 1,400 items, including over 65 deodorants and 60 cans of tuna. If you'd like to support this effort, feel free to check out http://pantry.unl.edu for a list of the most needed items or to make a monetary gift. Thank you for your support of food and shelter insecure students!
