Enrollment is open for Nebraska’s student health insurance

Are you searching for health insurance coverage for your student? The university has partnered with UnitedHealthcare to offer a convenient, affordable option: UnitedHealthcare StudentResources.

Enrollment for UHCSR fall coverage period (Aug 1 through Dec. 31) is now open and closes September 4 at midnight.

This medical, mental health, prescription and dental plan offers many benefits:
• 100 percent coverage of most medically necessary services at the University Health Center
• $500 deductible per year (in network)
• Prescription copays as low as $5
• $1,000 dental coverage
• Plan pays 80 percent for medical services in network
• Can be used anywhere nationwide wherever UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus is accepted

To enroll in fall semester coverage, your student should:
1. Log into MyRed
2. Select the Profile tab
3. Choose Health insurance

Within 10 to 12 business days from when your student voluntarily enrolls, UHCSR will send an email to the email address they have on file with their MyRed account. They will need to follow the link in that email to create their “My Account” and access their electronic health insurance card. A physical copy will not automatically be mailed.

Want to learn more before your student enrolls? Encourage your student to come to Student Insurance 101, an informal event at the University Health Center with free pizza and an opportunity to get their questions answered:
• Tuesday, Sept. 4, 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
• University Health Center (550 N. 19th St), second level, room 240
• No RSVP required
