Earning a degree takes grit. At Nebraska, we are committed to helping juniors take their first steps toward graduation. We want you to experience the glory of watching your student cross the stage and graduate with a college degree.

At Nebraska, all juniors who plan to be seniors next semester will participate in Senior Kickoff. We will help juniors understand program requirements earlier and ensure each has a plan to satisfy all remaining graduation requirements during senior year.

Senior Kickoff has just three steps:

  1. Run a current degree audit — The degree audit is a document outlining undergraduate academic progress. This document uses Nebraska coursework, transfer coursework and courses in progress to determine progress toward degree completion.
  2. Senior Kickoff survey — The survey collects information about current graduation plans and additional credit information including any transfer and study abroad credits.
  3. Meet with an advisor — The final step is for your student to work with an advisor and plan the path to graduation.

Juniors who complete Senior Kickoff in MyRED by noon on March 15 will receive a better priority registration appointment. With an earlier enrollment appointment, juniors will be eligible to enroll before many peers, giving them a better chance to enroll in required classes that fill up quickly.
