This new course provides students with an interdisciplinary survey of the history of domestic and international religious, racial, and political antisemitism, a consideration of the causes and consequences of rising antisemitism today, and the creation and challenges of the State of Israel. While we will focus on these topics, we will also spend throughout the course on civil discourse, addressing the very real challenge of how we speak and listen to one another when it comes to difficult or divisive political topics. The class is taught by Dr. Ari Kohen
