International Student Travel? Please register with the Global Experiences Office.

All undergraduate and graduate students traveling internationally in association with UNL, or on travel sponsored by UNL, are required to register their international travel with Global Experiences no later than two weeks prior to their expected departure date. As part of our responsibilities in Global Affairs, we monitor student travel and respond to student concerns while abroad.

Upon registration, the Global Experiences Office will gather student itineraries, contact information in country and emergency contact information. Global Experiences will also share a health and safety presentation with students and enroll them in international insurance with AIG (Nebraska system policy) at the rate of $1.50/day. Some common types of student international travel may include:
• independent or joint research;
• an internship, teaching opportunity, or other professional development;
• meetings of academic and professional associations, including conferences; and
• group travel coordinated by a student organization or campus organization.
