Dr. Cruise, Co-Director, Center for Trauma Recovery and Juvenile Justice, conducts research on the clinical-forensic assessment of adolescents within the juvenile justice system and has received grant funding (NIJ, OJJDP, SAMHSA) to examine the effectiveness of enhanced mental health screening for poly-victimization, trauma informed case planning, and the impact of trauma screening on service delivery and legal outcomes for adolescents experiencing justice system involvement. His overarching focus is adopting, implementing, and sustaining evidence-based practices that increase access to appropriate services.

The Roberta Morris lectureship honors the memory of Dr. Roberta A. Morris, who received her B.S. and Ph.D. from the UNL Department of Psychology and her JD from the College of Law. Established in 1988, it supports lectures by distinguished scholars or policy makers on bioethics, mental health law, women’s issues, or environmental protection.
