Arrived at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013, Dr. John Carroll has worked in Latin America off and on for more than 30 years. He has undertaken or directed research in Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Costa Rica and Mexico. The longest-term projects were several year projects on Perdices and agricultural development in Argentina and conservation efforts on the bearded tree-partridge around Xalapa, Mexico.

Being a bird biologist while working in various countries leads to awesome experiences and sometimes crazy situations. Dr. Carroll will share his experience of being a bird biologist and having to work in countries during political conflicts.
