
Ring in the new year with the University Program Council and the Asian Student Union! This event is FREE for UNL students, faculty, and staff with an Event Pass and open to the public.
Celebrate this Lunar New Year with us in the Union Centennial room, for a night that will be filled with culture, community, and fun! Students can enjoy free food, play games for a chance to win prizes, and explore interactive booths hosted by ASU. Additionally, they will be able to watch a Lion Dance performance by the Asian Community and Cultural Center as we welcome the new year together.

About Lunar New Year:
Lunar New Year is a celebration marking the start of the year according to the lunisolar calendar, typically falling between January 21 and February 20. In 2026, the Year of the Horse begins on February 17th. It is considered one of the most important holidays in many East Asian countries, as it is a multi-day celebration of culture, family, and tradition.
