The College of Education and Human Sciences Student Advisory Board is seeking donations of children's books in support of the new partnership between CEHS and the Malone Community Center. CEHS SAB is asking UNL students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to please consider donating lightly used or new books that would be appropriate for children ages 3 to 14. The drive will happen from October 22 - November 16. Drop off locations include Henzlik Hall, University Health Center, Home Economics, Barkley Center, and UNMC College of Dentistry.
Information about the Malone Center's students
-Nearly all students qualify for free and reduced lunch
-Some students are in foster care, staying in motels, or at a city mission
-On average they move every 3-4 months
-The Malone Center's goal is to provide quality after school education to assist these young people in being at or above grade level while in school AND progress on to a college education.
Special Donation Days: People who donate 3 or more books during these times at these locations will receive a FREE CEHS T-Shirt!
