Gallup has a 12 question survey that measures individual's engagement and provides actionable elements that if implemented, lead to greater performance. Question #2 on the survey asks, "Do I have the Materials & Equipment Needed to Do My Work?" This survey showed that 4 in 10 workers globally strongly agree that they have the materials and equipment to do their jobs.
Like managers, the most effective RSO Advisors will ensure that their RSO members have all of the materials and equipment needed to do their role correctly.
What materials or or equipment do your RSO members need to do their job?
1.) Hardware: The tangible tools and equipment necessary to do the work.
2.) Software: The systems and processes in place (including access to information) that maximize productivity.
3.) Humanware: Appropriate staffing and the acceptable handling of equipment requests.
Take time to do an inventory of the Hardware, Software, and Humanware that belongs to your RSO. If you find that your lacks equipment or tools in one of the three areas, find ways to obtain them to ensrue that your RSO members can succeed.
