At this year’s May undergraduate commencement ceremony, two SCM majors will be named as Chancellor’s Scholars. This achievement recognizes students at UNL who have earned A’s in every single class in their undergraduate career. This is an amazing accomplishment, and the SCM department is very privileged to acknowledge our two Chancellor’s Scholars, Amanda Fuechtmann and Stephanie Herridge!

Amanda Fuechtmann is originally from Prior Lake, MN. During her time here at UNL she has been a member of the Nebraska Business Honors Academy and a COB student ambassador. She is also an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta, a sorority on campus. She loves to try new foods and travel, which also led to her studying abroad last summer in Florence Italy.

Post-graduation, Amanda plans to move to Dallas where she will work as an Advisory Associate for KPMG. She is “excited to start a career in Supply Chain consulting as it encompasses [her] passion for Supply Chain Management and [her] experience within the Center for Sales Excellence.” Amanda also said that the most rewarding part of being an SCM major has been the hands-on experience she has gained throughout her Supply Chain capstone course. She and her group had the chance to work with Fastenal to analyze customer data and present recommendations to optimize their inventory process with FastVend machines. These recommendations will be implemented at Fastenal this year as they revamp their inventory system, which is incredibly rewarding to have worked on!

Stephanie Herridge came to UNL from Lincoln, however, she has been a proud resident of Ohio, Texas, and Illinois prior to her time at Nebraska. Stephanie has served as a Peer Career Coach in the Business Career Center, as well as a tutor in the Teaching and Learning Center in the COB. She said that she feels these positions have placed her in a position where she can help others get the most out of their time at the university. In her free time, she enjoys playing or listening to music, spending time with her cats and dog, and learning from others.

Stephanie is glad that her path in the College of Business led her to becoming an SCM major and appreciates Supply Chain's unique intersection between utilizing creative and logical processes to solve problems. She is grateful for the technical knowledge that she has been given as a SCM major, including programs like Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SQL, SPSS, and R. She was able to use these within her capstone course as well for a real-world company. Stephanie has achieved her goal from four years ago, to become a Chancellor's Scholar as a testament to all of her hard work at UNL. As Stephanie moves on to the rest of her life and future career, she thinks back on what she has learned and looks forward to carrying the same determination with her!

We are so proud of Amanda and Stephanie for their accomplishments, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors, we can't wait to see what you do!
