Majors: Anthropology and Communication studies
Minors: Conflict and Conflict Resolution and Global Studies
Hometown: Omaha, NE
Year at UNL: Senior
Favorite Book:
Catcher and the Rye is one of my favorite books because of some of the themes it addresses like alienation and angst.
Favorite Movie:
One of my favorite movies would have to be Guardians of the Galaxy because Star-Lord is one of my favorite superheroes and the soundtrack is amazing.
Why these majors and minors?
I decided on my studies because ever since I was little, I had always found cultures and the way people communicate with each other to be very interesting.
I have found my Ancient Maya course to be very interesting along with my conflict resolution class. I think people should at least try anthropology; many people think it is just archaeology but there are many other subdivisions in anthropology that are interesting as well.
Extracurricular Experiences:
I have an internship at the attorney general's office as a mediator in the consumer protection division. I have made lots of connections with others in the office as well as learned a lot about mediation. It has been a rollercoaster when working with the people, but it has been very interesting. I have been on tons of intramural sports (volleyball and soccer) teams and I think that was a great way to meet friends.
Post Graduation Plans:
My end goal is to hopefully work at a government agency mainly either dealing with behavior and or cryptology.
