Global Café: Environmental Humanities after Globalization

The environmental humanities offer perspectives into the anthropogenic era that has come to replace the imaginary previously held by globalization. In this talk, I’ll discuss examples from my research into environmental literature and culture of the United States from the 1970s to the present. Encompassing the energy crisis, extraction, and environmental memory in the Anthropocene, I ask how transformations in the material economy find expression in cultural narratives of an emerging planetary condition.
