HELPFUL HIGHLIGHT

Each newsletter I will be sharing tips, campus resources, and skills that can help you personally, academically, and professionally. This newsletter’s highlight is Advising for priority registration!

Schedule your advising appointment in advance! The closer we get to priority registration, the quicker my schedule will fill up. This is a peak time for advisors, so you should not rely on email to replace a meeting. Before your appointment, you should start thinking through what classes/requirements you’d like to complete in the upcoming term. During your appointment, we’ll check in and review your progress to graduation and what requirements you should focus on next. After your appointment, you can look through available courses for those requirements and enroll in courses.

If you’d like to talk about long-term degree planning, goal setting, future career plans, etc., you should schedule another appointment with me later in the semester or over the summer.

ADVISING UPDATE

This Friday (March 26th) is the last day to change a full semester course registration to or from "Pass/No Pass!"

Timeline related to Priority Registration:
-March 22: The Fall 2021 Class Schedule will be viewable, and Enrollment Scheduler will be open to plan your scheduler.
-March 29: Your Fall 2021 Enrollment Shopping Cart will be open for you do add classes.
-April 5-20: Priority Registration starts—when it’s your personal appointment time, you’ll be able to enroll in the classes you’ve added to your shopping cart.

GRADUATING SENIORS:
By now you’ve probably seen that UNL is planning to hold Commencement in person. In the next month, be on the lookout in MyRED for a To Do item related to Commencement attendance. If you plan to walk for graduation, your response to that MyRED To Do item should trigger an email to register guests. Students must register their guests, and each student will be allowed a maximum of 4 guests.
