The Real Estate Division of the Omaha District are seeking to fill developmental Cartographer positions within our Omaha office using the Department of Defense Post-Secondary Students and Recent Graduates Direct Hire Authority. Recent Graduates and current Post-Secondary Students will be considered who meet the eligibility and qualifications for the position.

To be eligible to apply for this position you must meet one of the following:
• Recent graduate who has completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying degree or certificate from an accredited educational institution; OR Current post-secondary student who will graduate no later than December 2022 or May 2023 with a qualifying degree from an accredited educational institution.

To qualify at the GS-05 for a Cartographer position in the above noted field, you must meet the following education: (Additionally, Applicants who meet this requirement are qualified for entry grade of GS-05):
• Degree: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in Geography, Cartography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related field. To be acceptable, the program must lead to a bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) from an accredited University.

To qualify at the GS-07 Recent graduate you must also meet following:
• Recent graduates who have one year of specialized experience related to GIS. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service; OR meet superior academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

To qualify at the GS-09 Recent graduate you must also meet one of the following:
• Recent graduates who have one year of specialized experience related to GIS; this definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, OR completion of 2 academic years of directly related graduate level education, OR completion of a related master’s degree or equivalent graduate-degree.

Additional Information:
• This is a full-time permanent competitive position with a 2-year trial/probationary period
• Position has non-competitive promotion potential to GS-11 level.
• Starting Salary based on qualifications: GS-05: $36,345; GS-07: $45,022; GS-09: $55,071 annually.
