Our research team is currently seeking volunteers to assist with data collection for an important study. The goal of our research is to identify biological, psychological, and social factors that help predict outcomes for individuals who use drugs.
More specifically, our lab focuses on epigenetics—chemical modifications to DNA that influence how genes are expressed without altering the DNA sequence itself. Environmental factors such as drug exposure, stress, and trauma can affect these epigenetic markers, potentially shaping gene expression in meaningful ways.
By volunteering, you’ll be contributing to research that deepens our understanding of how life experiences impact biology—and ultimately, health outcomes.
If you volunteer for this project, you would be assisting in conducting/administering interviews with participants and collecting biological samples (e.g., saliva and blood). This will provide you valuable hands-on research experience you can put on your CV's. To learn more, contact eclausing2@nebraska.edu or ctomlinson6@nebraska.edu!
