Favorite Book: Unwind by Neil Shusterman. The whole series is thrilling. It has a dark sense to it, but also a mystery! Highly recommend!
Favorite Movie: My favorite movie is Tangled by Disney! I love Disney and i think that this is definitely the best princess movie out there. I love it.
Why did you chose your majors?
I chose to study history and anthropology because those two majors really go with each other. You can’t have one without the other. I chose history because of a high school teacher I had. He made it interesting and I have fallen in love with the subject every since. Anthropology is way more then what people assume it to be. It is not just digging up bones, it’s past cultures, remembering cultures that are close to being forgotten and embracing everything around us.
One of my favorite classes I have taken is “The Holocaust”. World War II has always been my biggest interest and that class is taught in a very different way that makes a student rethink everything you thought you knew. If anyone is thinking about going into history or anthropology, do it. It gives you such a great background knowledge of everything that is happening now. You learn how to write very well and the classes that are offered are always interesting. It gives a student the chance to think critically about the world and its past events.
Study Abroad Experience:
I have studied abroad in Japan for a summer then most recently in Australia for a semester. Japan had such a deep history connection that no matter where you went you learned something. In an anthropological view, learning about their culture and how to be apart of their society was so interesting to learn about and to actually live it. In Australia, I had the opportunity to take anthropology as well as a history class. There I learned so much about the Australian culture and history. I did not know a lot about but they are quite similar to the US. Plus i got to learn how to surf and got to hold a koala while exploring the beautiful country.
Post Graduation Plans:
After I graduate, I plan on working as a curator. I am not fully sure where but that is the hope!
