Rangel and Pickering Fellowships are for students or professionals applying to a two-year graduate school program and wish to join the Foreign Service. Minority, women, or financial need candidates must be U.S. citizens with a 3.2 accumulative GPA or higher.

The fellowships come with a $42,00 per year tuition and stipend support, 2 paid summer internships (1 domestic, 1 overseas), a mentorship program, and a 5-year work commitment as a Foreign Service Officer. Graduate study can be in any field that supports the needs of the Foreign Service and the career tracks of its officers: consular (crisis response, citizen services, visas), economic (support U.S. business, trade, STEM diplomacy, entrepreneurship, economic trends and analysis), management (internal management of people, resources, and systems), political (internal/external political relations, human rights, democracy, security, socio-political trends and analysis), and public diplomacy (press, social media, education and cultural affairs, public outreach, exchanges).

The Rangel Deadline is October 14 and the Pickering Deadline is October 21.
