There have been several requests for copies of the portrait images on the SNR website. There are two ways to do this.
First, anyone can download a low-resolution copy by simply right-clicking on the image and selecting the “Save As” option. This image is good for PowerPoint and other website needs. But low resolution images are not good enough for print publications such as posters or other promotional materials. Low resolution images are small files that are optimized for faster web browsing, so they often reproduce grainy or pixelated, particularly when the image is enlarged.
High-resolution pictures, however, are large files that are optimized for the best image quality. They typically reproduce well and look much more crisp and sharp when enlarged for printed materials. Those photos are also available for download on the SNR Sharepoint site, "Pictures Portrait Gallery."
The SNR SharePoint site is accessible at the bottom of any SNR webpage or can be found here: https://shareit.unl.edu/ianr/snr/SitePages/Home.aspx
The images are organized in folders by last name. To download a file, click the checkbox beneath the desired picture, then in the "Action" menu select "Download."
The photo archive is a work in progress, containing nearly all portrait images from the last five years. Plans to include all images that appear on the SNR website are under discussion.
