Applications sought for 2025 Big Ten academic leadership program

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking faculty applicants for the Big Ten Academic Alliance’s Academic Leadership Program.

The program is designed to further develop the abilities of participants to be effective academic leaders at all levels of research universities. It is intended to help developing leaders understand the university as a dynamic and inclusive institution and build awareness of the diverse, complex and changing landscape of higher education while exploring their role in that landscape.

Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in academic leadership and some leadership experience.

A maximum of five fellows will attend a combination of virtual and in-person events with the Big Ten Academic Alliance. They will also participate in conversations on campus throughout the academic year with members of the university’s leadership team. Applicants must be available for all scheduled programming: a virtual welcome session on Sept. 19, followed by in-person seminars Oct. 9-11 at Indiana University, Feb. 12-14, 2026 at University of Illinois, and April 16-18, 2026 at the University of Iowa.

Interested applicants should complete an online application, which includes submitting a letter of interest and current curriculum vitae, by April 15. Applicants should also request a brief letter of support be sent by the department executive officer or dean to facultyaffairs@unl.edu by April 15.
